About afrikangoods

The raw goods of Africa, one story at a time.

afrikangoods is a media on African raw goods — the foods, beauty ingredients and culture around them. We publish recipes, guides and honest stories, and keep a small shop of things we actually use and trust.

Why we started

Good information, in one place.

Shea, baobab, moringa, rooibos, spices, grains — African raw goods are everywhere, yet honest, usable information about them is scattered. So we started collecting the recipes, the sourcing notes and the stories in one place.

The shop stays small on purpose. Some pieces are our own; others are honest affiliate links to suppliers. Every item is labelled so you always know how it works.

On sourcing

"We follow every ingredient back to where it comes from —and who grows it. Good raw goods start at the source."

— The afrikangoods team

We only write about goods we've used and sourced honestly. If we wouldn't keep it in our own kitchen, it doesn't go on the site.
